In Lázaro Cárdenas, tourism accounts for 90% of the economy, and hotel and restaurant jobs are extremely popular. But most young people are hired into entry-level dishwashing and housekeeping roles that barely pay enough to cover their basic needs. The best available positions require specialized training like attending an expensive culinary school, and for young people with extremely limited economic resources, these programs are completely out of reach.
The Hands Offering Hope Culinary and Hospitality Institute (CHI) is an accredited, two-year program that trains young people in the culinary arts. Through professional training, strategic partnerships, relationships with global experts and world-class chefs, and extensive hands-on experience, the Culinary and Hospitality Institute serves as a valuable resource for young leaders in Mexico who are ready to pursue careers at leading restaurants, resorts, and hotels.
Our global advisory team, including chefs, hoteliers, and culinary experts, is creating a best-in-class curriculum. World-class faculty are generously contributing their time and talent to the program. Now, all we need is YOU!
Thanks to the generosity of so many partners like you, tuition for the full two-year accredited program is just $8,000 per student.
Will you help a student access a week, a month, or even the full two years of this professional training?
With your generous gift, talented young leaders will be able to access the training and resources they need to build their skills, connect with world-class faculty and mentors, and pursue careers in hospitality and the culinary arts.
In a region in which 90% of the economy is built on tourism, these specialized jobs are some of the best career opportunities available—and can completely transform a young person’s future.
Thank you for championing these talented students and believing in their bold dreams. You are giving them incredible opportunities to learn, grow, and transform their futures.
